Biography
Prosecutor General Aragón's roots are in the quiet, sun-dappled streets of Almaria Vella, far from the clamour of Puerto Almaria's docks. His family, a line of modest but respected archivists and scribes, instilled a reverence for order and documentation. Their small apartment, overlooking a forgotten courtyard near the old university, was filled with leather-bound volumes and the precise scratch of fountain pens. Young Aragón spent hours indexing his father's collection of historical ordinances, a meticulous habit that saw him organize even his toy soldiers by their imagined regimental statutes. That early fascination with codified rules, a fascination bordering on quiet obsession, never truly left him. His path to the kingdom's highest prosecutorial office was marked by unyielding diligence. He read law at the University of Almaria Vella, excelling under the tutelage of Professor Elena Vargas, whose exacting standards for legal research were legendary. Upon graduation, Aragón joined the public service, initially as a junior counsel in the Ministry of Maritime Affairs. There, he navigated complex international shipping contracts, a meticulous realm where a misplaced comma could alter fortunes. It was his forensic unpicking of the "Salarian Smuggling Cartel" case, a convoluted web of shell companies and offshore accounts, that first brought him to the attention of the Chamber, solidifying his reputation for thoroughness and an unwavering adherence to process. Now, as Prosecutor General, Aragón presides over the kingdom's legal integrity from his sober office within the Ministry of Justice, a stone's throw from the Chamber. His days are a disciplined rhythm of reviewing briefs, drafting directives for his teams of assistant prosecutors, and engaging with senior investigators. He answers directly to the Chamber, submitting comprehensive reports on the state of criminal justice and advising on legislative amendments. What consumes him this season, however, are the three heavily annotated files bearing the name 'Cordoba', resting prominently on his desk. The delicate task of deciding which, if any, to advance through the intricate legal and political channels is his primary, and most pressing, preoccupation. Despite his public persona of unshakeable rectitude and procedural rigour, Prosecutor General Aragón maintains a private, almost childlike, fascination with the chaotic beauty of Almaria's untamed coastline, often finding solace in watching the unpredictable crash of waves at Sant Joan.
