ALMARIA VELLA — The Almarian National Intelligence Directorate has raised its internal alert level for communal-tension incidents, citing a sequence of hate-motivated attacks in neighbouring Mediterranean states over recent days. Director-General Sra. Valls briefed the leaders of Almaria's religious minority councils at the civic hall on Tuesday, reaffirming what she called the government's "standing undertaking" of protective policing around synagogues, mosques, and the smaller chapels of the coast.

Civil liberties advocates, received immediately after the council leaders, welcomed the briefing while urging that heightened security be paired with transparent oversight. The Directorate is understood to have accepted the principle and to be preparing a quarterly reporting protocol for review by the Chamber's standing committee on civic order.

Cardenal Marín, asked after vespers whether the cathedral at Sant Joan would alter its arrangements for Sunday, replied that the doors would stand as they have always stood, and that the faithful might expect a homily on hospitality.
